Snyder is a professor of history at Yale University, specializing in Eastern European history and the Holocaust. In 2013, it was also awarded the Hannah Arendt Prize for Political Thought. Snyder, won a number of awards, including the Cundill Prize Recognition of Excellence in 2011, Le Prix du livre d’histoire de l’Europe in 2013, the Moczarski Prize in History in 2010, and the American Academy of Arts and Letters Literature Award in 2011.
